Today's speaker was Carol Jackson, Branch Manager of the Ramsay County Library in Shoreview.  Carol has been recognized as a "Mover and Shaker" by a Global Library Leadership Group and is part of the reason that the Ramsay County Library system has more users than any other national system with comparable expenditures.  She oversaw the building of the current library that was completed in 2017 and marvels at how well used this local treasure is.  The site has 64 public computers and its meeting rooms are also very busy.  Except during the pandemic, of course.  Carol related how quickly they were able to pivot when things shut down on March 17, 2020.  They were able to begin offering curbside service and virtual programming almost immediately.  She also expressed appreciation for the ways in which our Rotary Club has supported the library over the years.  About 5 years ago we secured a district grant to install interactive panels in the children's area of the library and we are currently working to build and install four "Little Free Libraries" in the community.
