Programs for January

We start 2017 with an excellent variety of programs in January.
On January 3 we have a Club Assembly. It’s good to talk about important club activities such as membership and fundraising every 3 months.

Then on January 10 we will have two speakers. Mounds View High School student Shantunu Sabine, who has an interest in Business and Marketing will tell us about his experience at Rotary Camp Enterprise last fall. Terry Schwerm will tell us about the Shoreview Commons Master Plan.

On January 17 we will host a very distinguished guest speaker: Barbara Müller, Honorary Consul for Federal Republik of Germany. Frau Müller is a resident of Arden Hills and one of 35 official, Honorary Consuls assisting Germany and its citizens in the US.

Bob Freed and Miriam Zachary will give Classification Talks on January 24. My conversations with them at meetings suggest they will have fun and informative stories and facts.
Finally, on January 31 Brooks Clifford will educate us about Bitcoin - Cryptocurrency and peer to peer payment systems. This is the newest thing in financial cyber security. Bitcoin is Mr. Clifford’s hobby; his job is owner of Big Red Dog Solutions, a web design firm.
Thank you to Bill Kiehnbaum for arranging Frau Müller and Brooks Clifford to speak.
